The economy is reopening at a fast pace. Restaurants, sports arenas and even offices are filling up again as pandemic restrictions lift. And that means many folks who have been sequestered in their homes for the past year are venturing forth, even if they don’t exactly look the same.

The stressful and sedentary nature of life during the coronavirus pandemic caused many to fall out of fitness routines and gain weight. In fact, 42% of U.S. adults reported undesired weight gain due to Covid, according to a recent survey by the American Psychological Association. Average increase: 29 pounds.


“It was fun to make sourdough bread. It was fun to make banana bread, but the result of that is not great,” said Jim Rowley, CEO of Crunch Worldwide.

On the flip side, 18% reported undesired weight loss, possibly due in part to muscle loss from all that sitting around. It is no wonder, gain or loss, that fitness companies are suddenly seeing a new surge in activity.
“We’re getting a lot of people now that haven’t seen us over the winter that are ready and are realizing this has been a long time coming,” said Lucy Ballentine, a studio manager at Orangetheory Fitness in Washington, D.C. Customers are telling her, “It’s been over a year since I’ve done any type of workout, and I’m really desperate to get back in shape.”

Fortunately, my OX and I maintained our weights , fluctuating between -3 and +3 lbs only, yeahhhhhhhhhhh!

I lost about 5 pounds probably due to muscles loss. Hồi đó tập thể dục 6 ngày 1 tuần for 1 hour/day (or 2 on weekend) cũng 0 sụt được ounces nào hết. Bây giờ ở nhà chỉ tập 1/2 hour for 4 days a week và đi bộ 3 times a day thì tự nhiên sụt cân.

chồng tui lost weight ...lúc xưa tui kêu ổng exercise cũng mệt ..từ ngày dịch, ngày nào cũng leo lên cái máy elliptical đi bộ rồi tập tạ Very Happy

tui thì còn tập nhiều hơn hồi chưa bị dịch ..bị dịch đi 1 tiếng zumba về chớ giờ leo lên elliptical thì nó burned gấp đôi calories so với zumba ..có điều tui hem có xuống lbs nào hết Laugh tui ăn như hạm sao xuống lbs được Laugh

Hello... tui van same.... so happy... Tui phai co gang spinning 5 days a week as usual..... nhieu khi lam being nhung lai so len can... an rau khong ma cung khong dam an (com va banh mi cung khong dam an)… lol thiet kho cai than Sad

I lost 7 lbs during the pandemic
tin không after the first child, I gảined 18 lbs, then second child, another 12 lbs
It's been 15 years, mà mới xuống lại được có khoảng 14 lbs thôi

Hồi Gà than tại sao tập exercise bao nhiêu cũng 0 sụt cân hết. Bây giờ sụt được thì đi BS hỏi tui có bịnh gì 0 tại sao lại bị xuống 5 pounds?

Ăn chay ,chạy bộ xuống được 2kg. .... đang cái đà xuống con số sẽ lớn hơn .
