Mấy anh chị ơi cho em hỏi real ID mình có thật sự cần làm không ? Gia đình em ai cũng làm hết rồi còn em thì làm biếng quá. Gặp mùa dịch này phải làm hẹn online mất mấy tháng cho nên hơi làm biếng. Mà sao em hỏi mấy đứa trong chỗ làm không đứa nào biết real ID là cái gì. Cám ơn mấy anh chị nhiều.

Real ID is needed to enter any governmental facilities. Without a Real ID, a person can fly domestically by using a passport or Green Card and personal ID such as a driver's license.

Đáng lẽ ra VA đã required đổi sang real ID rồi nhưng vì bị COVID cho nên họ cho thêm tới May 3rd, 2023. Real ID laws come about àfter September 11 and sets minimum security standards for issuance of ID such as driver's licenses and sets requirements on what form of ID can you use as proof of you are who you are and where you reside. For example the new law may require people to present their greencard/citizenship card/birth certificates when applying for a driver's license etc.

Thì Việt Nam bắt chước nên ra cái luật "Thẻ Căn Cước" . Chớ dân Việt nam dưới chế độ xã hội chủ nghĩa chỉ có giấy chứng minh nhân dân, chớ không có "Thẻ Căn Cước" ...kkakkaakak ...

Còn ở Mỹ thì có nhiều tiểu bang, điển hình là Cali, cho người không giấy tờ được phép xin bằng lái xe ..kakakak .. such oxymoron

Vậy hả chị Gà ? Em lại nghe nói là tháng mười này hết hạn cho nên đang lo. Bây giờ nghe chị nói tới năm 2023 thì thôi chắc em đợi năm drivers license hết hạn rồi làm luôn . Thanks chị.

Ở Texas thì họ nói như vầy:

All Texas driver licenses and identification cards, both compliant (star) and non-compliant (no star) are valid until the expiration date shown on the card. If you replaced or renewed your card after October 10, 2016, and have a gold star in the right-hand corner, your card is REAL ID compliant and no further action is required on your part. You may continue to use your compliant card for federal identification purposes until it expires.

If your card does not have the star, you can continue to use the card after May 3, 2023, but it will only be accepted for state-related purposes such as driving (driver license only), banking, and voting. It will not be accepted as identification for federal purposes.

Ở MA bằng lái xe củ không phải valid id ở phi trường, mọi thứ khác thì ok, including voting. ox Gạo còn bằng lái củ lúc xmas 2019, he phải carried passport lúc đi máy bay, he cũng đợi ga^`n expired rồi làm lại cái mới luôn . Còn Gạo thì bằng lái expired vài tháng trước new requirement nên Gạo làm và khi đi máy bay domestic thì bằng lái xe mới ok.

I wonder how it would work with different states having different đeadlines. If I live in VA and fly to Miami December 2021, would they allow me to board the plane to fly home from Miami if I did not have my real ID yet?
