When do you plan on retiring? What are you planning to do when you retired? I will travel on my RV across the country--hopefully hubby won't be too old and tired to drive!

My hubby is planning to do early retirement possibly next year. For now I still enjoy the work/challenges so I still plan to work until full retirement age! Of course that could easily change if one day I just feel like I am tired of all the demands or if I have a bad boss that may maké work miserable.

Thế nào mới gọi là đủ? Khi mình lớn tuổi thì có những expenses nhiều hơn trước đây (tiền copay cho bác sĩ, nhà thương, thuốc men, và tiền care taker khi mình 0 thể tự take care được nửa). Ăn uống và tiêu xài vặt hay xăng nhớt chắc sẽ ít hơn vì ăn ít và lái xe đi ít hơn. Nhưng tiền auto insurance sẽ lên khi mình già hơn.

thì cũng phải đủ chi phí , đi chơi chớ sống tiện tặn, ăn không dám ăn , mặc không dám mặc, đi đâu cũng đắn đo thì retire làm gì

The only bad thing about early retirement is you have to get your own health insurance.

Nếu retired đúng tuổi, health insurance sẽ được chánh phủ covers mà, dĩ nhiên mình cũng sẽ đóng vô 1 phần nhỏ không đáng là bao. Nếu còn sức khoẻ, đừng nên retired sớm, không có gì làm (after travelling) cứ lẩn quẩn đi ra đi vô buồn lắm.

Mỗi người mỗi cảnh, mỗi sở thích, tùy công việc ...

Gạo phải làm cho tới khi nào được medicare tại g/đ cần health insurance.
Có người nói ở nhà không có gì làm buồn, chắc Gạo không bị vụ này đâu .
Giờ vẫn muốn trở lại làm part-time 20 hours mà thấy tiền ham quá bỏ tiếc

My husband works for the federal government and if he meets certain criteria he can retires a little earlier and they allow him to buy the insurance. The only thing is that he will pay for both employer & employee share so it's still okay.

I may need to insure for myself through my company if insuring through my husband for both of us is too high.

Hubby wánts to move to Vietnam and I want Florida or Hawaii. I’ll move to Nam if they ban dog meat consumption.

Hawaii is too expensive to live during retirement. Even working people have to move away from Hawaii since they cannot afford to buy a house there with their income.

Sách bây giờ hằng hà sa số trên các websites, không cần phải chống gậy đi đâu xa đâu.

Hawaii was my wishful thinking destination. We would need to own 5 paid off homes and rent them out in order for us to afford living there.
