Trump has fixated on DeSantis more than other potential 2024 rivals, watching his large crowds and growing frustrated at his positive news coverage — while calling him ungrateful for Trump’s support in his 2018 campaign, allies say. He tested many nicknames and attacks before landing on “Ron DeSanctimonious” last week; advisers said the reception was mixed, and he did not use it again this weekend.

On Monday night, Trump attacked DeSantis while speaking to reporters on his plane and even threatened to release damaging information about him should he run.

“If he did run, I will tell you things about him that won’t be very flattering. I know more about him than anybody other than perhaps his wife, who is really running his campaign,” Trump told a small group of reporters, according to the Wall Street Journal.

“I think if he runs, he could hurt himself very badly,” he said.

Georgians: we didn't get the results we wanted in this race, but I remain inspired by the people in our state. For 18 months, I shared with Georgians my family story: my dad's incarceration by his government & my parents fleeing their country in the middle of the night on a boat.

I knew that I wanted to empower others in whatever way I could — and that's why I spent 10 years in our public school system. And that's also why I ran for office in 2017. When I took that step, I became the first Vietnamese American elected to the Georgia General Assembly.

On Jan. 6, when the Capitol was stormed, some Vietnamese Americans participated and flew the South Vietnamese flag alongside white supremacy flags. My belief in our American democracy and the power of our vote compelled me to run for Secretary of State.

I believe every eligible Georgian should be able to exercise their freedom to vote without barriers. Over the course of the campaign, I met Georgians who weren't always eligible to vote, including the 100-year-old woman in Clayton County, who was only afforded the right to vote when she was 40 years old.

To the 94-year-old veteran in Buena Vista: thank you for your service to our country. To the grandfather in the barbershop in Douglasville: we'll keep fighting for your granddaughters and their future. To the 8-year-old Asian girl in Grovetown: yes, we look alike, and we look like Georgians.
