Mass shooting in Thousand Oaks, CA, kills 12
A gunman opened fire at a bar in Thousand Oaks, California, killing at least 12 people during a college night celebration, including a deputy sheriff who was planning to retire next year. The unidentified gunman is also dead, authorities said.
Police were called to the Borderline Bar & Grill in the Ventura County suburb, 40 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles, late Wednesday Pacific time.
"It's a horrific scene in there," Ventura County Sheriff Geoff Dean told a news conference in the parking lot of the Borderline Bar & Grill. "There's blood everywhere."
The massacre was the latest mass shooting in the United States and came less than two weeks after a gunman killed 11 people at a synagogue in Pittsburgh.
Dean said multiple 911 calls were received at 11:20 p.m. of shots being fired. "Approximately three minutes later, a highway patrol officer and a deputy made entry. Upon going through ... (the) sheriff''s sergeant was shot multiple times with gunfire," he said.
The motive for the latest mass shooting was not known. The gunman at the country dance bar was tall and wearing all black with a hood over his head and his face partly covered, witnesses told TV stations at the scene. He first fired on a person working the door, then appeared to open fire at random at the people inside, they said.
Sarah Rose DeSon told ABC's "Good Morning America" that she saw the shooter draw his gun.
"I dropped to the floor," she said. "A friend yelled `Everybody down!' We were hiding behind tables trying to keep ourselves covered."
The 12 dead included Deputy Sheriff Ron Helus, a 29-year veteran of the agency who was looking to retire next year, Dean said, choking back tears while talking about his longtime friend.

"Hit twice": Group that survived Las Vegas massacre was at California bar shooting
For one large group of people at a Southern California bar where a gunman killed 12 people Wednesday night, it was their second narrow escape from a mass shooting. One man said he and others inside the Borderline Bar and Grill in Thousand Oaks also survived the shooting that killed 58 people and injured nearly 500 others at a country music concert in Las Vegas last October.
Nicholas Champion said he and many others in the bar were also at the Las Vegas Route 91 shooting.
"It's the second time in about a year and a month that this has happened," he said. "It's a big thing for us. We're all a big family and unfortunately this family got hit twice."
More than 100 people were inside the bar during the shooting, including many college students who were there to celebrate "College Country Night."
Police said they found the shooter dead inside, possibly from a self-inflicted wound. Ventura County Sheriff Geoff Dean told reporters early Thursday, "It's a horrific scene in there. There's blood everywhere."
Among the victims is 29-year veteran deputy Ron Helus. Helus was among the first responders and was shot while entering the building where the shooting was taking place. He died at the hospital Thursday morning.
So far, there is no known motive for the attack.

Long is the common American last name đó chị . Do you know the football Hall of Fame Howie Long (Raiders) who is now the commentator every NFL Sunday game? This Ian Long (killer) is a white male, 28yo, former US Marine Corp, suffered PTSD according to the News.
My thoughts and prayers are for the victim families . What a tragic

Thật ra mấy chuyện như shooting như vậy, media nên reports xong cho nó chìm xuống.
Đừng nên đi tìm what motivated this or that, it's all belong to the investigation and trying to not explore to people mind any more. Why? 1) others can copy and do it again 2) people are more fear of all sudden dead again and again 3) more people are going to think how to arm for themselves, buying more guns

Raise awareness to the parents có con bị bệnh.
.. làm cha mẹ nên check out con mình ..
