Pressure cooking is to cook food at elevated temperatures... more than 100c ... pressurized steam could reach 150 c
Slow cooker is simmering.. barely boil .. cooking temperature not to exceed 100c

My SIL used this recipe and said it came out good! You can try to follow the same recipe using the Instant Pot (or pressure cooker).

No she's not. I am a member of the Instant Pot Group on FB and Katie has shared a lot of decent recipes using the IP in that group. Hence we tend to look up recipes in her blog when we want to use the IP!

Recipe này không cần dùng hộp gia vị Bà Quốc Việt. Jen would skip dùng ginger và nấm
3 - 4 lbs beef chuck (available at Costco), cut into 1 1/2 inches pieces
- Carrots, cut into an inch round pieces (I used whole baby carrots)
- King oyster mushrooms, cut into half an inch pieces, optional
- 2 sweet onion, cut into big chunks
- 4 tbsps annatto oil
- 4 star anise
- 2 tsps red pepper flakes
- 1 1/2 tbsps curry powder
- 3 stalks of lemongrass, cut into 3 segments, smashed to release flavor
- 3 shallots, minced
- 1 head of garlic, minced
- 1 piece fresh ginger, about 2 inches, cut into strips
- 3 tbsps sugar
- 3 tbsps soy sauce
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1/4 cup fish sauce
-A bunch of fresh basil leaves
8-quart Instant Pot/Pressure Cooker
Directions:
Preparing Annatto Oil - heat olive oil and about a tablespoon of annatto seeds in a sauce pan over low heat for about 2-3 minutes. As the temperature rises, the red color will leach from the annatto seeds. Let it cool down for a few minutes, then strain and discard seeds.
Cooking Beef Stew - Press the “Sauté” function key. Add annatto oil, shallots, garlic, curry powder, red pepper flakes, ginger, and lemongrass to an Instant Pot, and cook, stirring until fragrant.
Add beef, onion, and mushroom and stir it all together.
Fill water to a bit below the max fill line. Add fish sauce, soy sauce, sugar, and salt. Give it a quick stir. Close the lid and manually set the cook time to 30 minutes and cook.
Carefully quick release the pressure when cooking time is completed. Add carrots and basil leaves and cook for another 20 minutes.

Thì chị follow theo số phút họ nấu. Instant pot cũng là pressure cook thôi. Chỉ khác là cái instant pot nó turn off automatically thôi.

Nếu SP không có pressure cooker điện thì bật lửa nấu trên stove khoảng 30 phút theo như sis JL nói, nhớ set timer để tắt lửa. PN cũng có pressure cooker nấu bằng lò, loại điện hay lò nấu cũng cùng thời gian. Quên nhắn SP để lữa medium đừng để lửa cao .
