Yep, across the nation!
Min wage might be $10-$11, I think.

For VA, I think they just raised from $7.25/hour to $9.50/hour.
I don't think it's fair to do a minimum wage increase across the board to $15/hour. Some states have lower living costs than others and their minimum wages should be lowered as well.

Current Federal Minimum wage is $7.25. And Biden wants to raise it to $15 is doable. Almost all cities across America has enacted its own minimum wage requirement to reach to $15 within the next 4 years.
So What's the fuzz of Biden wants to set the standard across America ? It's not like the world is gonna end with Federal minimum wage of $15/hr.
Throughout the 80s and 90s, Federal minimum wage stands at $3.35. That's hardly buy you a tank of gas then. And now, the current is $7.25 can not buy you an In 'n Out Burger double double.

Wow, I didnt think ít was that low.
Whether it’s a dollar or .50 raise it would make a big difference to them.

The world is not gonna end even if they raise the Minimum Wage to $100/hour either! There are 2 sides to a coin and in this case there are costs to employers when they double the Minimum wage!
My understanding the current Federal Minimum wage is $7.25 so that would be a 100% increase. Yes many areas already are paying their employees $15 or more an hour already since their areas probably have higher cost of living standards. However with the new mandate it may means those areas will also have to increase those employees to higher than $15/hour. You cannot just raise the minimum wages without also raising the wages for other folks with higher skillsets.
So the impact will have a domino effect. Of course, companies will need to recoup those costs by passing along to their customers but there is only so much to do with everyone's slim profit margins. Given the current market conditions where most companies are struggling to stay afloat, I don't think it's a good idea to do that high of a minimum wage increase.

Exactly! If our labour costs is too high, then companies will shift the work overseas to China/India/VN.
A few years ago when CA mandated wage increases over the next several years, my company is already discussing how we can shift the work to other areas where labour costs are lowered.
