Police responding to shooting in downtown San Jose by VTA maintenance yard

Police in San Jose, California, are responding to a shooting downtown near Younger Avenue and San Pedro Street, according to a tweet from the San Jose Police Department.
The intersection is by the site of a Valley Transportation Authority light rail maintenance yard. VTA spokesperson Brandi Childress said there "reports of an active shooter" at the site and said employees had been evacuated.

San Jose Police said the scene is still active and asked that people stay out of the area. The Santa Clara County Sheriff's department is also on scene with no further details.

thiệt chứ xứ Mỹ chết vì súng cao nhất thế giới, mà cứ nói nhờ có súng để tự vệ nên ít bị chết vì cướp . Canada hiếm nghe ngưới chết vi` súgn óng cũng chả có nhiều người chết vì không có súng tự vệ

Deputy Russell Davis, Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office spokesperson, said that at this point he can confirm nine people are dead — 8 victims and the suspect.

Shooting suspect was a VTA employee

The suspect involved in today's shooting at the light rail yard was a VTA employee, said Deputy Russell Davis, with the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office, at a news conference.
"It's still developing," he said, adding that law enforcement officials are working to get more information.

Who was the gunman?

The gunman has been identified as Sam Cassidy, a source close to the investigation tells CNN.
Cassidy was a VTA employee, according to Davis.
Davis said deputies did not exchange gunfire with Cassidy, and it is believed he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Để ý mấy đứa mass shooters phần đông toàn là đàn ông Mỷ trắng! Mấy đứa cầm súng rồi cướp của giết người cũng bad nhưng ít ra mình hiểu được their reasonings. Còn mấy tên Mỷ trắng chắc có lẽ when tánh entitlement rồi nên khi chuyện 0 đúng ý hắn thì mang súng đi giết thiên hạ!

San Jose shooter "spoke angrily about his co-workers and bosses," ex-wife says

Sam Cassidy, the suspected gunman in the mass shooting at a San Jose light rail yard where eight people were killed Wednesday, spoke angrily about his coworkers and resented his work, his ex-wife told a Northern California news outlet.
“He had two sides,” Cassidy’s ex-wife Cecilia Nelms told the Bay Area News Group, a CNN-affiliate, outside her home Wednesday. “When he was in a good mood, he was a great guy. When he was mad, he was mad.”

The gunman who opened fire on coworkers at a light rail yard in Northern California on Wednesday -- killing nine people before killing himself -- bypassed certain people and so appeared to select those he shot, a witness said.

"He ... was targeting certain people. He walked by other people," Kirk Bertolet, a worker at the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) in San Jose, told CNN affiliate KGO Wednesday night. "He let other people live as he gunned down other people."

The gunman, armed with two semiautomatic handguns, shot coworkers in two buildings around the time of a morning shift change before taking his own life in front of responding law enforcement officers, authorities have said.
