Marble thấm nước mắm take care thấy phiền.

I’m sure it would cost at least 20k if you’re to replace the old cabinets, counters and sink. But it would look weird if the kitchen cabinets look all nice while the cabinets in other rooms are out dated, don’t you think? Neu vay thi phai remodel the cabinets in the whole house but that would be out of our budget. I wonder if there’s a simple solution in saving cost while making our house look nice?

Hi BeiBei, I am gathering info and trying to figure out how much it would cost to upgrade the kitchen and flooring. I will replace what need to replace plus appliances since my dishwasher already broke. I have to put kitchen cabinets which are still in good condition, into consideration since they are a part of the remodeling. I am focusing on kitchen for now. One step at the time, besides the cabinets in other rooms have different design, are not outdated and they don't necessarily need to match with the kitchen cabinets. Do you think so? If there is a solution in saving cost, I am for it but one can only hope.

We thought of updating our cabinets but realized the whole house has the same wood color. We don’t plan to live there for over 2 years so want to get everything fix up before move back and selling it. Repainting is not easy. We’ve spoken to the specialist and were told it would be cheaper to replace the whole cabinets vs repainting.

Once you replace one thing, you would want to change something else. Before you know realize it, you have upgraded the entire kitchen and possibly the whole house.

If I were you, I would first find out my old kitchen cabinet is solid wood or not before making a clear plan to replace all or just the countertop, floor, paint, and appliances.

It's a very sound advice anh HTLG. Thank you anh HTLG. I don't have the faintest idea if they are solid wood, how will I be able to tell, by looking at it or knocking on it?

Re: DELETE@ Upgrade

The counter top and cabinets are 15 years old and out dated. Hubby wanted to replace carpets upstairs and vinyl on the main floor. House will be repainted with new curtains before we move back. Our budget is 60k. Do you think that is enough?

How big is your house? If the cabinet is solid wood, I don't care how old it is, I will keep it, and just repaint it. I will replace the countertop, have home depot replace the carpet (quality and warranty as promise), and call local contractor replace vinyl floor. With the small house, $60K is more than enough.
