I couldn’t reply until now since I’ve been busy all morning. Don’t know what happened to your thread and here’s my experience.

I’ve been going to the same dentist for years with no problems until I changed dentist who was closer to home.

First exam was free  at the new dentist.

After the xray, I met the new dentist. She showed me the periodontal disease chart and told me I needed a deep cleaning done since I’m at “risk of periodontal disease”. Lol
Insurance only pay so much and out of pocket would be over 1500.

I think they suggest deep cleaning to everyone who walks through their door. New dentist said I would lose my teeth if I don’t do it.

Long story short, I made an appointment for a cleaning at my previous dentist, had the X-rays done and they did the regular 6 months cleaning. When the dentist came in to see me, I asked about deep cleaning which she said I didn’t need it yet.

I guess that’s what happens when you go to the new dentist.

5 months later, I received a bill from the new dentist. They didn’t do anything other than the free X-rays and scare of losing all my teeth if I didn’t get the deep cleaning done.

The statement balance description was “previous balance”. What the heo is that? There’s no CPT code or diagnosis, just previous balance of $142.

I called the office and asked them to explain what the statement was about. The guy told me I didn’t have to worry about the balance since my insurance has paid for it already. I was furious. I asked why they billed my insurance when the X-ray and consultation were free. He couldn’t explain much.

After we hung up, I called my insurance company, told them everything and asked if they’ve filed the claim. The agent said she didn’t anything other than the June and July claims of this year. This meant they never sent it in. The guy at the office was speaking from his a ss. Lol

Be careful with new dentists is all I can say. Lol

Dentists have some smart ways to lure in new patients. I don't like them.

I had to go to the dentist closer to home.

That’s why we should stick with our dentist until they retire.

I wanted to try another one since she’s younger and prettier and the bonus is her office is much closer to home but it was a big mistake. Hen, ko bi du.

I did. They split it up into two sessions and they are very thorough

I don't do it that often maybe once every while when I need to.

I did.  They split it up into two sessions and they are very thorough

My mom had the deep cleaning done, also in 2 sessions last year and now she has to come back every 3-4 months to get the regular cleaning done.
