Năm rồi tụi này lái xe đi sang tiểu bang khác để hiking và ghé sang tiệm pizza kia vào ăn dinner. Khi tới nơi thì họ nói 15 phút nửa tiệm đóng cửa nên 0 cho mình eat-in và phải order carry-out. Tụi này xin vào xài bathroom thì họ bảo sorry 0 thể cho vào được vì họ đã cleaned bathroom rồi. Họ kêu tụi này lái xe tới Walgreen xài ké đi!

Trả tiền mua pizzas xong nhìn receipt mới realized họ automatically tagged on 25% tips mà mình 0 để ý lúc trả tiền (có 3 options: 18%, 20%, and 25% nhưng cái default là 25%). Gà trở lại kêu tụi nó void the transaction và gave them no tips whatsover.

Why do we have tip anything when they won't even allow us to eat in nor use the bathroom eventhough they haven't closed yet!

My father also boycotted another chinese restaurant that automatically charges him 18% tips for both carryout and eat-in even if he was by himself. Bố nói bình thường eat-in mình cũng cho nó ít nhất 15% nhưng thấy ghét khi họ coi như tipping is required and not only for good services!

Most restaurants họ tính tips sẳn trong bill , hôm bữa đi ăn ở Cali nhờ người bạn nhác là đừng cho tiên tips vì họ tính rồi

Some places are reasonable asked for 8% while other places asked for 15% or more

This is what bothers most people eventhough most people would tip anyway. Tipping is supposed to be for good services and not automatically required. By putting it automatically on the bill made it a requirement and the people who don't want to tip have to request it to be removed is uncomfortable for them as well.

I felt awkward of having to request them to void the transaction. The waitress even said "you don't want to give any tips at all?". I don't understand why we need to tip when we order carryout and could not even used their bathrooms eventhough the restaurant was still opened and we were their customers!

Chi phí tăng lên thì họ đả lên giá đồ ăn trong restaurant rồi. Tippings should be based on good services and not automatic! Còn không thì làm giống như bên Europe tính giá tiền fixed price rồi pay their own staff a decent salary and not required additional tips.

Hồi đó 2 tô phở $20 + $3 tips (15%) = $23. Bây giờ 2 tô phở khoảng $32 + $4.80 tips (15%) thì tiền tips cũng đã cao hơn hồi đó rồi.

Actually you should look at it in an open way, the suggested tipping values are there for "dumb blonds" to quickly dish out the money instead of poking through the phones for a calculator to figure out the percentages ...

Personnaly, I'd ignore those "suggested tipping" dollars.  I'd tip nice when I felt appreciated for the services that were rendered.

Edit: the part where you said that why you should tip when you ordered carryouts.  Actually, it is considered as "services" since they spent the time to pack your food nice and neat .. kkkakakakk
