I did watch the video and at first I did not think it was necessary to shoot him since he was too far away to use the taser gun.  However you have explained that he could hurt them within the 15 feet range so now I do think the police has probable cause.  Also there were other people sitting in the cars in the Wendy's drive through so they could be endangered as well.

I do think they don't have to shoot to kill, however, my understanding is that they are trained that way so we cannot said they did not follow protocols.  I do agree that those police officers are the sacrificial lamb to appease the public due to recent events and that the victim made some poor judgment (probably because he was drunk) and it costed him his life!  It's a very unfortunate situation!

If I were in those polices' shoes, not sure if I would handle it differently or not.  It's easy for us to judge the police but perhaps we will do the exact same thing when we have to make those split second decisions!

Not sure what will be the solutions/proposals that will minimize police brutality but also do not put police's lives in more danger!

Let's say that the cops left him alone for him to sleep it off. They called in the station and reported as such .. 10 minutes later, there's a frantic 911 call that there was a fatal car accident .. The report further mentioned that there was a white Camry hit a child while backing out of Wendy's parking lot.

After hearing that 911 alert, what would you feel as the police on scene that had left the area ? Did you have the responsibility to the public well being by taking in the drunk driver at first encounter ? Should you not have left the drunk driver sleep in the car knowing that he is impaired and unable to operate a vehicle ?

My take is that it was an accident could have avoided if the guy followed through with the arresting process. He was obeying and cordial to the officers, as well as the officers were cordial to him. Both were very courteous to each other. It's unfortunate that the drunken guy snapped and made bad judgment altogether.

Someone called the cop who arrived and knocked on his window for a good couple minutes before he woke up.  He didnt pull over and slept in a parking lot.

Don't shoot to kill meant you will have to aim at their legs/arms which are much smaller targets and easier to miss. Then police's lives could be in more in danger then.

Like when you are fighting a battle at war, you are shooting to kill the enemies. It's either their lives or your lives!

Đúng rồi, Chổ người ta đậu xe để order đồ ăn lại ngủ đi làm tắt nghẻn lưu thông...nếu kéo xe vào gốc kẹt nào đó lám 1 giấc thì ai mà thèm để ý đến ..
